L'ARC-BOUTÉ

Blanc de Blancs – Brut

Oak Barrel – Selected Plot

This Blanc de Blancs cracks and spreads its gnarled and majestic branches in the oak barrels where it gets aged…

Once it is fixed into an object, L’Arc-Bouté continues to dialogue with its content for, although it was ‘fathered’ in the forest, it is now the happy father of another sap. Ode to oak barrels, actor of its own vinification, the very essence of this plot-selected Blanc de Blancs is reserved for shrewd connoisseurs.

Grape Variety : 100% Chardonnay
Tête de cuvée – 75% harvest 2016 and 25% 2014 – 2015 reserve wines
Terroir : Barbonne-Fayel
Plot : Les Bæufs
Oak Barrel
Bottling : 2017
Dosage : 6 g/l
Drinking Temperature : between 6°C and 8°C

The yellow robe of L’Arc-Bouté and its bright tints are indicative of a nice and delicate wine, the effervescence forms a persistent foamy ring.

Once open this Blanc de Blancs releases aromas such as oak, vanilla and marzipan then its bouquet shows nice tension and energy thanks to Chardonnay’s citrus fruit flavour.

Having preserved a certain nobility, the transposed image is typified and evolves towards minerality and elegance. Aromas of lemon and vanilla over the tongue, notes of menthol and eucalyptus coupled with notes of mocha and cocoa give this Blanc de Blancs a pleasant finish.

LA TERRE FORGÉE

Blanc de Blancs – Jarre – Vieilles Vignes

Parcellaire – Zéro dosage

‘La Terre Forgée’ is grown within a soil shaped by the human hand. Due to the nature of its container there are tiny porosities between this cuvée and the outside air. It moves, oxidizes, inside its jar, away from people’s eyes. It patiently takes shape and transcends Chardonnay into a unique model.

The use of jars for winemaking – a technique  used in Georgia as early as 5400 BC for still wine – is a very rarely used in Champagne and still uncommon in France. Champagne G. Richomme introduces a first in the southwest of the Marnais.

Two 305-litre Tuscan clay jars host the muss of the têtes de cuvées from a Chardonnay plot wine with low yield, 55 years old and south facing. The aim of this technique ? To release aromas thanks to the natural microoxygenation of the must during fermentation. Swayed by a gentle and perpetual motion, wine acquires delicacy, harmony and velvet.

Grape Variety : 100% Chardonnay

Terroir : Barbonne-Fayel

Plot : Les Grands Macrets

Material to Shape juice : Terracotta jar

Bottling : 2018

Dosage : 0 g/l

Drinking Temperature : Between 6°C and 8°C

Our cuvée La Terre Forgée has a very nice and shiny light straw yellow robe. Its bubbles are fine and persistent.

Its bouquet realease nice aromas of Golden Delicious, spices pepper as well as note of butter and reveals a beautiful complexity.

A lively and fresh attack on the palate is backbone of this wine. Its structure is elegant, full-bolied and nicely persistent.

A successful cuvée reserved for well-informed connoisseurs.

LE COTEAUX CHAMPENOIS

Blanc de Blancs – Brut

Oak Barrel – Selected Plot

This still wine is the combination of three cuvées of Chardonnay, the first one of which has been vinified in a strainless-steel vat, the second one in oak cask and the third one in an earthenware vase.

Revealing a blazing and energising complexity, this wonderful Coteaux will perfectly math with sea food, but not any!

Grape variety: 100% made with Chardonnay

The terroir: Barbonne-Fayel

Stainless-steel vat oak cask, earthenware vase

Bottlng: 2023 – Harvest 2022

Service temperature: between 6° and 8°

The Coteaux Champenois has a beautiful yellow colour with hints of green.

The first nose reveals notes of sap and vanilla reminding the universe of woods and then, the wine moves onto flavours of linseed oil and notes of cereals such as mature wheat. Lightly camphoric, the oldfactory universe is both rich and inspiring, opening up to a Burgundy dimension.

The entry in the palate is ample and makes aromas of fresh butter, almonds and grilled hazelnuts appear first of all. Straightforward, it makes the tannins of the wood appear before moving onto aromas of bergamot, liquorice, lime and grapefruit. The saline universe is still present in the length in mouth.

You will be seduced by this charismatic Coteaux Champenois and its atypical character. A modern and perfectly contemporary interpretation of the gastronomic wine that will perfectly match with sea food and cheeses.
